Radio E.P.G.B. is an ultra-hip underground club in the heart of Tel Aviv.
With it’s unique edge and alternative appeal, it’s the place to be for the who’s who of Tel Aviv’s art and fashion scene.
It is a sanctuary for music lovers and nightlife scenesters alike. The music lineup is always stellar and right on point, which makes the Radio a perfect venue for live performances by indie bands and musicians.

The name ‘Radio’ was brought about in an effort to ‘broadcast’ this unique content to the people, as well as to emphasize the club’s open line of communication with the city. Thereby, always moving and shaking with the times and trends. This sets the Radio apart as a true ‘tastemaker’ in the Tel Aviv nightlife culture scene.
Radio’s punk and rock roots are clear to see from the design of the place.
The amazing graffiti covered bathroom walls were inspired by the legendary C.B.G.B in New York City. While a collage of musically historic newspaper clippings creatively cover the walls of the club. Coupled with the elegant and classic design of the bar, all of these elements come together to create a warm and homey atmosphere.
But what makes the Radio stand on it’s own as a true trailblazer in the Tel Aviv nightlife scene, is without a doubt, the music. On any given night you’ll find one of Radio’s world renowned DJ’s playing a set consisting of indie-rock and updated indietronica mixed with classic punk rock.
What does E.P.G.B. stand for, you ask? That remains a mystery…

I see that my learned friend has described every wine bar that he’s familiar with, so here’s another one…
On Shabazi Street, in Neveh Tzedek, across the street from its father – Jajo (the hottest place for a date) – is a small place with a bar that can host up to 18 people, and another bar that faces the street. The place is called Jajo Vino, and it meets the high expectations that go along with its name.

The international culinary standard is constantly on the rise, and for quite some time a diverse menu or millions of dollars spent on design have not been enough to succeed in Tel Aviv’s uncompromising “Restaurant Championship” – that’s why God created takeaway. What we’re looking for today has much more to do with a place’s personality and soul; to lure us out of the house they have to understand that food is a form of entertainment that includes quality dishes, excellent service, good prices and most importantly an atmosphere that encourages a hearty appetite and libido. After all, food is the most sensuous thing there is.

I’ve liked this little, wooden, very very smoker-friendly place for a long time…
It’s a hybrid of a local bar with really good food, and on summer days when it’s harder to digest meat (not for me personally, but in general…) it’s so fun to spend an evening, or Saturday after the beach (for those who can muster the courage to go to the beach and get mauled by the masses and the kids throwing sand…) at a side table or on the bar…

Last Friday, when I got home at 7:00 A.M. after yet another crazy night out, I remembered that only a few hours prior I’d been at Rothschild’s Kitchen, with a bottle of white wine (Chardonnay – really good!) thinking to myself, “How fun, another calm night in the city.” Calm – yeah right. Though the place is like a café/bar/relaxed restaurant, with a great menu and beautiful décor, under the surface lies the hidden potential for a lot of alcohol, a young, dynamic atmosphere, a young, professional staff, fresh air and a fantastic location.
I should note that it’s good to know one of the staff members or owners, because then you get surprise chasers…
Like I said – everything starts at Rothschild’s Kitchen… and ends somewhere in the early hours of the morning…

One of the most unique places in Tel Aviv, this excellent restaurant is situated in an old stone building that dates back to the Ottoman Empire. The rural French kitchen boasts excellent meats and a wide array of alcohol and wine from around the world. We spent several hours there on appetizers and excellent wine in the middle of the day. It’s a place where you can stop time and take a break from the city. On other occasions we’ve gone there for long dinners, for a unique and always enjoyable culinary experience.

La La Land is a nice, lovely restaurant on the Tel Aviv beach.
It has a mix of comfortable couches, bamboo swings, a long bar and the option of sitting outside, right on the sand.
The décor is a combination of dark wood floors with white furniture, giving the place a pleasant, prestigious atmosphere unlike other places on the boardwalk.
The menu includes seafood, fish, salads, meat and other dishes.
We recommend sitting near the sea on a hot summer night and enjoying the nice breeze. If possible, get there in time to catch the sunset…

A boutique hotel, with a bar and restaurant, opened on Montefiore Street…
The owners are the same successful couple that established the Coffee Bar and Brasserie… Every time I’ve gone there I’ve felt like I’m abroad, and on one occasion I felt like I was Cuba. And I’ve never even been to Cuba! The vegetation at the entrance and the colors remind me of Andy Garcia in some Cuban movie…
The food is excellent and the piping hot bread sticks with butter is one of my favorite treats.
Just so those partiers who have passed the age of 35 know – the clientele is a little older and established.

A restaurant and bar right on the water, at the Tel Aviv port, with one of the nicest views in town.
During the summer months, we suggest starting your evenings at Shalvata – sitting at the bar and enjoying the sunset. Just relax and enjoy…
The Shalvata is comprised of a number of bars that are spread out and linked by couches, chairs, umbrellas and a dance floor.
It opens in the morning and offers a diverse food and alcohol menu, so that you can come for the food while enjoying a drink and the pleasant background music at any time of day or night.

Hidden somewhere among all of the hangars, parking lots, bars and stores at the Tel Aviv port, you can find a unique bar with live shows – Shablul Club.
The place is small and cozy and features a bar, tables and small dance floor next to the stage. When you’re there you feel like the music is being played especially for you…
Shablul offers mainly live jazz shows, integrating additional musical styles such as Latin, Israeli and blues.
The best of Israel’s musicians perform at Shablul, alongside lesser known artists and bands. Alon Oliarchik, the Blues Messengers, Rami Kleinstein, Mazzy Cohen, Koby Recht, Gidi Gov and many others have performed at Shablul. Some nights feature new, original music while others feature tributes to bands and musicians from Israel and around the world.
There is a different live show every night, and entrance fees vary. You can check out the list of upcoming performances on their Web site: http://www.shabluljazz.com/
